Due to the acquisition of Wowstead by Curse and the subsequent problems we've had as a result (including the loss of a  fantastic custom theme by one of our guild members), we have decided to change hosting providers. See guild info for details.

We will not be copying content, so guild members please repost your pics and any other material you want to keep. For assistance with the new site, contact an officer. For specific technical issues with the new site, contact our Webmaster Tyrâ. For general/admin stuff, either Ty or Kth will suffice.

We're hoping to stay on this new site for a good long time, so please help us make it an active community for the entire guild!

We have spent the last few weeks farming 10+ bosses a week in order to make sure we are as prepared as we can be for the new bosses that will come with patch 4.2. We have the gear, now it's time to make sure we know OUR jerb in the fights. Understand your position, educate yourselves on the fights, lets make the learning curve steeper! Find a forum post containing the boss fight how-to's right here.

I'd prefer our youtube vids be used as a learning tool. Though they're not walkthroughs with directions, you should be able to learn the fight from tankspot, then watch our guild video to see how we do it. If you have never seen any of these fights listed below you need to watch the tankspot video (found in the raiding forums) and our guild video list which will be managed in a running list on the same forum. Oh and listed below because I got excited when I posted them on youtube and wanted to link them on the main page :P

Nefarian
We stroll up to Nefarian with 4 healers. One of our healers had to DPS as we did not have enough DPS online that night. So arguably "gimped" having someone run their offspec we start Nefarian pulls with the goal in mind to down him, and we did just that. Thok said it best the prior week, "This is an old school fight where everyone has to do their job perfectly the entire time, and we'll kill him." The irony of that sarcastic comment is that it's spot-on true. We had 10 players, on their A-game, focusing, for 45mins. First attempt we got Nefarian to 8%, another attempt we brought Nefarian down to 6% before wiping. Fourty-five mins later it was over, Nefarian was down, everyone was alive, hell we had enough mana to do P3 for another minute if we needed.
P1
-Our DPS rocked the charts
-Midi made a tight group outside the center in P1, way to go Midi
-Kthonis spun Ony accurately during the correct times, a single mistake there would have been a wipe. She made that jerb look easy every night.
P2
-Everyone made it on their pillars in a timely fashion (as least from what I could see)
-Interrupts (Thok, Kthonis, and Oramis) were done flawlessly in P2
-Heals (Bloody, Dangly and myself) kept their groups up in P2
-Ty gave us a well timed transition from P2 to P3 by running that lagging pillar along side Kthonis
P3
-Thok did a great job on the adds in P3, he even had to scramble a few times as their aggro reset but picked them back up seamlessly and got them reset twice!
-Kthonis spun Nef with precision in accordance to Thok's movements
-DPS tore it up and stayed in position throughout the spin of Nefarian, they also switched elbows well when Ty called out for a switch

Al'Akir
Same group, same night. One healer still DPSing. This goes to show how this content depends less on gear and more on skill and fight knowledge. We made a few attempts on Al'Akir before fighting our way healthily through P1 and getting to P2 and P3 where we can depend more on skill and less on RNG. Ty did a great job in P2 adds gettin the stack to 7ish before the stacks finally fell off. He said afterwards something to the effect of "Sorry, that could have been better on my part," always looking to improve, I like that. Our DPS was higher than average as usual, and they were constantly dancing around Al'Akir's abilities. Our first time in P3 we downed Al'Akir due to an attentive raid. This was the first time we had seen P3 with the "new" strat of two clouds high, two clouds low, rinse repeat. Dancing in a whole new way and doing it successfully on the first try is a testament to the ability of our raiders to pay attention and follow instructions while in the all new X, Y and Z coordinate encounter. Yes, I'm uber proud of MMC and will have my nose in the air for the next few weeks, is it obvious? :)

Sorry I have no screen shots as there was not a whole lot to see when Al'Akir dies, except for a floating raid.

- 2nd 10Man Group -

   What we have right now is a solid group, running three nights a week, keeping up with some of the best guilds on the server. What we want: two groups, one running on weekdays and one running on the weekend, keeping up with the best guilds on the server. After compiling your ingame mails to see what days you wanted to establish a second group, it was obviously a weekend group. That sounds great! There are a few key personnel that need to be visited with in order to continue this process. They will be met with soon, in the mean time we're going to try to get this group going asap. I will post it as early as this weekend I'm able to be on and raid lead it, but I will not be able to raid lead most weekends. That is one of the problems that we are already working on a solution for. What we DONT want to have happen as a result of this second 10man group is to go from one solid group to two groups that hardly get enough people on to raid. Thats detrimental to the guild, and if that is the case, the 2nd 10man group will be put back on hold untill we have enough raiders, old and new, to make two 10man groups. During this time of establishing multiple raid leaders it's imporant to show new and old raid leaders respect and listen to them so that the raid is operating as a solid unit. Please direct questions reguarding the 2nd 10man to Fiebz or Kthonis.

- Recruiting, what it means to our raiders -

   Though some of this is not necessarily breakthrough news, I want to remind you of some things that tend to happen when guilds recruit in order to proactively prevent further incidents. Because 90% of our guild is made up of people who have the ability to use their brains and say things like "This is a bigger upgrade for you, so I'll let you have it this time." We successfully use open rolls for loot. This is going to continue - how this relates to recruiting ... be prepared to lose a roll to a new recruit even if you've been wanting it for along time. Such is life. The only other option is to go to loot council and I think we'd all agree that for a 10man a loot council seems a bit excessive. It slows us down, and generates hurt feelings. We will stay with open rolls, continue to have good attitudes towards losing rolls even if it be to a new recruit.

- Where we're at as a guild, and where we're going -

   Currently according to wowprogress.com we're 8th(tied) on Alliance, and 4th(tied) for Alliance 10man. Some of you don't care about those numbers and that's just fine, but some are (rightfully so) very proud. I'm proud of our progress thus far, keep up the hard work and dedication. Next on our list in Nefarian, then Al'Akir. We need to be prepared for firelands when it comes out. It's on PTR right now so buckle up, we have two more bosses to get down and they require experience and focus. See you in there.

Due to some hard work, perseverance, and attention to detail, Conclave of wind is down. If you're not already familiar with that fight, you need to educate yourself on the fight's mechanics and where you fit into the strategy. We need to get it on farm to continue to progress. EPIKZ FTW!

Moving on ...

Time for The Bastion of Twilight. Halfus Wyrmbreaker is the first boss. Here's a video to the fight, however, it isnt 100% the same strategy that we have developed over the course of our last few visits to Halfus. Watch that video to learn how the fight will change from week to week. Ask a raider how MMC does it as a guild. 

Last night we got Halfus to around 7% on multiple attempts (seeing as how at that point he's taking +100% dmg, 7% is closer than it sounds). What that means is every attempt we need to be ready to down his ass, flasks, well-feds, and fight education. I would write a forum post on our particular strat that we developed for this week's drakes however that strategy may change as the drake change. So go watch the links that I posted, and get yourself some flasks and wellfeds via the GB or the AH. :)

Things are going away in Cataclysm, and we all knew that. The Scepter of the shifting sands questline is gone. Brood of Nozdormu, and Zandalar rep (along with Zul Gurub itself) are gone. Curse (what a perfect name for them) has taken over Wowstead. they are currently in the process of transferring over everything that WASNT transferred during the main switchover. For the most part the guild site is up and running. Keep comin back for forum postings and the gallery is back on.

Welcome to your new guild site! This post is meant to introduce you to some of the features and customization options you have on this site. You can add new posts using the "Add a Post" button at the top of the page. If you are a guild administrator, you can delete this post from your Control Panel.

Site Features

To help you get started, here are just some of the features that you should make sure to try out. You can enable each of these features from your Control Panel.

Guild Recruitment

• Guild Recruitment is an extremely useful tool for advertising to visitors that you are looking for new members. In addition, if you enable recruitment, your guild will appear in the WowStead Guild Recruitment Tool, where users can easily find information about your recruiting needs.
• To enable recruitment, first make sure the the 'Guild Recruitment' module is enabled from the General Settings page of the Control Panel. After enabling the module, go to the Recruitment page of the Control Panel. You'll find this link in the 'Site Features' section. From this page simply check the 'Currently Recruiting' checkbox and click the 'Save' button.

Calendar

• To enable the calendar, first make sure the module is enabled from the General Settings page of the Control Panel. Then go to the Calendar page of the Control Panel.
• On this page, you can create new calendar events by selecting the 'New Events' button at the top of the page. You can also sync your guild calendar with a character's in-game calendar by using the WowArmory's calendar feed tool. To do so, simply follow the instructions below the calendar.

Addons

• Wowstead allows you to easily download commonly used addons directly from your guild site! To enable this, make sure the module from the General Settings page of the Control Panel. Then go to the Addons page of the Control Panel.

Guild Progression

• WowStead's progression tool allows site visitors to see your guild's progress in an easily summarized fashion.

Customizing Your Site

Even though Wowstead requires very little initial setup, you are still given a number of powerful tools to personalize and customize your guild site.

Wowstead Content Management System (CMS)

The Wowstead CMS is an incredibly powerful tool that lets you create pages, posts, FAQs, galleries and other content for your site.

You can access the CMS by going to the control panel and accessing the control pages under "News & Media".

Layout, Theme & Widget Placement

• You can easily change your site's layout, theme and widget placement by going to the Customize Site page of the Control Page in the 'Site Configuration' section.

Guild Ranks

To rename your guild ranks, simply go to the Ranks & Permissions page of the control panel, inh the 'Guild Management' section.

• Wowstead can detect the number of active ranks in your guild. The ranks are defaulted to Guild Master (Rank 0) and Rank 1 through Rank 9 - where Rank 1 is the highest and Rank 9 is the lowest. You can determine what site permissions a rank has using the Manage Permissions button to the right of a given rank. Users will be automatically granted site permissions based on the in-game rank of their character.
• You can create custom ranks using the "Create New Role" button in the upper right of the Ranks & Permissions control page. Custom ranks can be used to assign privilege to guild members in addition to their default guild rank permissions.

Site Navigation

• You can edit your site's navigation menu by going to the Navigation page of the Control Panel, in the 'Site Configuration' section. Here, you can create and edit navigation links, or restrict them to certain guild ranks and create new links.

There is a new Links page up on the Navigation bar. Any site with ANYthing to do with WoW will be there, but i need help. The Links page is nowhere near full. Ive made a forum thread for people to post links to wow sites on. If you have any site that you use frequently for anything to do with WoW, please post them there. Hopefully we'll soon have all the info any guildie could ever want or need.

Please watch this video of the Sindragosa fight. There is also one on Tankspot. The more we know and the better we work together, the easier this fight will be. Also: RECRUIT!   :)

 

Gnothin' but Gnomes starts at 6pm Sunday, April 25. Be ready on your level 5 or lower gnome alts and be on vent for further info. There will be a warlock to summon. So no need to do anything but be online on your alt!
